Position Details: 

  • Start Date:  August 14, 2025 for the 2025-2026 school year
  • Hours: Full-time (32.5 hours per week )
  • Grade Levels: TK - 8th grade
  • Compensation: Starting at $ 21/hour (commensurate with experience)
  • Location: Millbrae, CA

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Interacts positively with children, staff, and community members.

  • Possesses knowledge of emergency procedures to handle various special education students.

  • Possesses general knowledge of first aid procedures.

  • Assists students in the loading and unloading of the bus.

  • Works with the driver in the application of necessary restraints for physically handicapped students.

  • Buckles students in seat belts.

  • Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.

  • Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority and completes required forms.

  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively under time constraints.

  • Complies with the District’s attendance standards as described in established guidelines.

  • Maintains a well-groomed appearance.

  • Is highly organized with the ability to multitask.

  • Is detail-oriented and self-motivated.

  • Ensures handwriting is legible.

  • Possesses excellent communication skills.

  • Has an excellent memory and functions well under stress.

  • Works independently with minimal supervision and/or assistance.

  • Demonstrates an extremely high regard for confidential and sensitive information.

  • Displays flexibility, common sense, and good judgment.

  • Stays current with information pertinent to the job.

  • Reads and interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Writes routine reports and correspondence.

  • Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Computes rates, ratios, discounts, and percentages and draws and interprets bar graphs.

  • Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Effectively presents information in one-on-one and small group situations.

  • Demonstrates the ability and knowledge to work with students with various handicaps and special needs.

  • Exercises patience with children.

Education:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D and/or
  • AA degree OR 60 college credit hours OR successful completion of approved exam.

Physical Requirements (Remote Work):

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods and use a computer keyboard and mouse for typing and navigating software applications. The employee must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with colleagues and clients. Occasionally, the employee may need to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
